The most important functions

Windows booten

Boot Windows WIM files as well as ISO files to BIOS, EFI and EFI with SecureBoot systems. DOS is also supported.

Define IP ranges

Specify IP ranges of clients to respect when booting over PXE. For example, you can include the network area of ​​your workshop but exclude your office from the PXE boot.

SecureBoot support

The bootcast bootloader is officially certified by Microsoft and works on all EFI systems with SecureBoot activated without any conversion.

Configuration file

With the bootcast mini file, everything can be easily configured and controlled via a text file.

Linux booten

Boot generic Linux ISO images in BIOS mode and toolstar® as well as HDClone Linux systems additionally via EFI and EFI with SecureBoot.

Overview of the application

The configuration file

All configuration settings such as boot entries, file references and much more are stored via the bootcast.mini file. Are defined. The sample configuration provided already contains a finished structure for toolstar®testLX, toolstar®shredderLX, WindowPE and HDClone toolstar®-Edition.

The configuration file can be used, among other things, to configure the included DHCP server so that you can set up a PXE server in any environment. It doesn’t matter whether a complete network already exists or not.

The program window

The toolstar®bootCAST program window shows at any time which configuration has been recognized and which clients are being served. Of course, the window in which toolstar®bootCAST is defined as a Windows task or service can also be hidden.

The boot menu

The boot menu is the first display you see after starting the corresponding client via PXE. This menu always looks the same on BIOS, EFI and EFI with SecureBoot and offers a central selection of all configured bootsets. An automatic timer can also be declared, which automatically starts the bootset specified in the bootcast.mini file after X seconds.
