Date and time settings

By default in toolstar®testLX and toolstar®shredderLX the UTC time zone is set. This means we are fulfilling our obligation to set the system up for worldwide use by default. After toolstar®testLX and toolstar®shredderLX is used worldwide and that is correct. However, this may result in the incorrect time being displayed in your country.

The settings at a glance

The settings can be found under Settings→System:

  • Use NTP to get date and time from network/internet
Yes is selected here by default. This switch also allows you to disable the system completely.
  • Then write to the system's real-time clock?
Should the new retrieved time (presumably more correct than the real-time clock) be written into the system?
  • Only at the first main program start after reboot?
Should the current time only be called up at the first program star?
  • Set time zone
Here you can set the time zone in which you are located. You can search in the field.
  • NTP server address
Here you can use your own NTP server or use the default server ntp.ubuntu.com.
