In the products toolstar®testLX, toolstar®shredderLX, toolstar®testWIN and toolstar®shredderWIN you can display various information about the PCI devices. There are also tests for the PCIe bus within the test products. For deletion products, you will only find the information within the system overviews.
PCI: Device list
In this menu item under Mainboard you will receive a list of all PCI devices detected in the device. There are significantly more PCI devices in a device than there are physical connections, because many internal devices built into the mainboard communicate with the CPU and are connected to each other via the PCI bus and its protocol. You will receive the following information:
- Bus / Device / Function
Specifies which bus the device is connected to and which function it performs. - Class
The class of the device. This means its function within the device. This can be a network controller or a hard disk controller or a storage controller. - Manufacturer ID
The unique manufacturer ID. Is resolved within the toolstar® database and output as a readable name in the Manufacturer column. - Manufacturer
The manufacturer name resolved from the toolstar® database based on the manufacturer ID - Device ID
The unique device ID. Is resolved within the toolstar® database and output as a readable name in the Device column. - Device
The name of the device resolved from the toolstar® database based on the device ID
If you cannot find a readable name for a device in the program, you can always save the PCI details with F2 and send them to support@toolhouse.de with a request to add them. Please also tell us the name of the manufacturer and the device so that we can double-verify the information here. If you discover an error in the assignment, please send us the same information.
PCI: Details
The PCI details provide similar information to the PCI device list. In addition, there is also the following special information:
- Revision
Revision of the device in hexadecimal output - Subsystem manufacturer
The name of the manufacturer for OEM hardware. Instead of Radeon RX470, for example, sapphire - Subsystem Device
The name of the device for OEM hardware. Instead of Radeon RX470, for example Saphir SP5923 - Current link speed
The speed in GT/s with which the device is currently operating - Maximum link speed
The maximum speed in GT/s , which the device could achieve if connected appropriately - Resources: Interrupt
Possible interrupts that the device uses to communicate directly with the CPU - Resources: Memory
Possible memory areas of the RAM that the device uses for configuration and work. Is set at startup and cannot be changed later. Negotiated by the firmware and operating system. - Capabilities
PCIe capabilities of the device such as power management - Forwarding
Forwarding requests to other devices without processing them yourself. For example PCI bridges. - System slot
More information about the system slot of the device. Can be physical or installed directly on the board. Information about length, bus width and designation.
