Current version:
Your advantages
The software starts on all devices (computer, laptop, IPC, server, tablet, embedded, etc.) without an installed operating system and thus enables sanitization of all connected data carriers. Including the system disk.
toolstar®shredderLX starts with a specially adapted Linux operating system on all devices. No matter whether PC, notebook, tablet, IPC or PoS. The ability to select different 64-bit and 32-bit kernels before starting means both new UEFI systems (including SecureBoot) and older BIOS systems are supported. With the special Bootcast PXE software, booting over the network is also possible without any problems. However, every other technology such as WDS and other PXE systems also works without problems.
In addition to the many international overwrite patterns, you can also use Enhanced SecureErase, SecureErase, Sanitze BlockErase, Sanitize CryptoErase, Select Sanitize Overwrite, NVMe Format UserData Erase and NVMe Format Crypotgraphic Erase.
With the standard edition of toolstar®shredderLX you can erase up to 4 hard drives at the same time. This means that even desktop PCs with multiple hard drives can be completed quickly in one go.
You can get Enterprise editions for 4, 8, 16 and more hard drives at the same time Request.
For each erase process, you will receive a erase report containing detailed messages and an overview of all deleted hard drives as well as an encrypted erase certificate for each erased hard drive. The erase report is perfect for your documentation and can be output as text, PDF, HTML, XML and JSON. You can also define up to 20 individual fields in which you can document information such as customer number, asset number, ticket number and other values.
You pay for the license, not the erase it self. This allows toolstar®shredderLX to sanitize many hard drives one after the other cost-effectively. With a toolstar®shredderLX license you can erase an unlimited number of hard drives per year. You only need as many licenses as you want to handle devices at the same time.
You can sanitize ATA HDD, ATA SSD, NVMe SSD, SCSI, Fiber Channel, USB, USB-C and many more types of disks. All processes can be automated and adjusted to individual drive types through the various settings.
Legal provision
Today, digital data must be protected better than paper documents because they can be evaluated and copied even more easily. This also applies to disposal. In addition, the legislature has also required eraseing in the Federal Data Protection Act since May 2001. The GDPR has made the requirements even stricter. The toolstar®shredderLX offers you the opportunity to erase data from hard drives and other media in an audit-proof and verifiable manner. The ADISA certification gives you additional security.
Rely on 30 years of experience in hardware dignostic and data erase.

Success Story: Geodis-Logistics
Geodis-Logistics has been working for years successful with toolstar®shredder:
“The irreversible data erase is carried out in accordance with the guidelines of the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) and is inspected regularly annually by TÜV Süd. All known standards are met. In this way, GEODIS guarantees its customers the maximum security of their own data. The erasure processes are clearly logged and archived.
Over 1.2 million erases have been successfully carried out this way since 2006.“
Simple, cost-effective and predictable licensing
toolstar®shredderLX is paid per license. This means you can purchase the license and erase as many hard drives as you want within a year. In the standard version of toolstar®shredderLX you can delete up to 4 hard drives in one device at the same time. You can start the software one after the other on an unlimited number of devices. You need as many licenses as you want to edit devices at the same time or have workstations for simultaneous use. The licensing and cost structure is perfect for companies that prefer to easily calculate costs through fixed annual prices.
Egal ob Sie einmal 10 oder 100 Festplatten im Monat löschen müssen.
Der jährliche Preis bleibt der Selbe.
- Erase as many hard drives as you want for a fixed, predictable price
- No annual usage limit – erase as many devices and disks as you want.
- No limitation of hard drive types. For ATA, NVMe, eMMC, USB, etc.
- No distinction between desktop or server systems.
- All updates included within one year
- Free support via email and telephone
If you erase 8 disks per working day (230 working days per year), you will delete 1,840 hard drives for €140 per year.
In this case, the erasure will cost you 7 cent per hard erased drive!
140 € license costs / (8 hard drives x 230 working days) = 0.07 € per drive

When is erasure of data necessary?
End-Of-Life
If a data storage device (server, PC, laptop, USB stick, mobile device, etc.) is to be recycled, sold or disposed of, all data contained on it must be completely and verifiably deleted. This eliminates the risk of unauthorized data access.
When data is no longer needed
If data is no longer needed, it must be deleted from the respective data storage medium.
After data recovery
After a data recovery has been carried out, the temporary storage medium should be erased so that there is no mix of new and old data during the next data recovery. This prevents data from being accidentally restored from two different customers.
Demand from customers
The GDPR and other international data protection regulations give consumers the right to request erasure of their data from your systems. In order to implement the regulations, all data must be erased in an audit-proof, irretrievable and verifiable manner.
Data migration
When data is migrated from one location to a new location, the original location of the data must be verifiably erased.
Change of employees
When an employee leaves the company, all of that employee's data must be securely and verifiably deleted. This prevents new employees from having access to the remaining data from the old system.
Certificate per erased drive
A comprehensive and customizable erase certificate is generated for each deleted hard drive, which can be individually and extensively adapted to the requirements of your company.
All processes in the program are recorded. Each report includes an optional digital signature for your and your customer's security.
The customization options
- Up to 20 self-definable fields such as ticket number or customer number
- Integration of your own company logo
- Display of test results such as SMART or benchmark tests
- One-page system overview including adjustment of each individual line
- Up to 3 signature fields with individual headings and field names
- Dokumenten-Fingerabdruck als digitale, fälschungssichere und überprüfbare Dokumentensignatur
Complete automation of all erase and testing processes through custom templates
Create automation scripts
In the program itself you will find an easy-to-use automation script builder with which you can easily create and modify scripts. Determine which hardware diagnotics should run, how long and at what intensity. Create your own protocols and certificates in different formats and with different content. Create custom fields for customer number or ticket number and much more.
. . . and execute
After you have created the automation scripts, you can easily start them in the program. Afterwards all options, test and erasure processes you have set run automatically and at the end they give you the protocols and certificates you created on the stick or the other available destinations (FTP, network, email or database ) out of. You can also easily use one of our pre-built scripts and get started right away.
Certified for your safety
toolstar®shredderLX is officially certified by the certification company ADISA. This means that toolstar®shredderLX provably erases all data from storage media irretrievably.
How was toolstar®shredderLX tested at ADISA?
toolstar®shredderLX has been tested at ADISA with “Test Level 2”. An SSD was used for the test. After deleting with toolstar®shredderLX an attempt was made to restore data using forensic software and physical reading of individual chips.
What is ADISA?
ADISA is an independent certification company based in England. The company specializes in developing and applying processes for the certification of Erase software and hardware.
