The software starts on all devices (computer, laptop, IPC, server, tablet, embedded, etc.) without an installed operating system and thus enables sanitization of all connected data carriers. Including the system disk.

toolstar®shredderLX starts with a specially adapted Linux operating system on all devices. No matter whether PC, notebook, tablet, IPC or PoS. The ability to select different 64-bit and 32-bit kernels before starting means both new UEFI systems (including SecureBoot) and older BIOS systems are supported. With the special Bootcast PXE software, booting over the network is also possible without any problems. However, every other technology such as WDS and other PXE systems also works without problems.

In addition to the many international overwrite patterns, you can also use Enhanced SecureErase, SecureErase, Sanitze BlockErase, Sanitize CryptoErase, Select Sanitize Overwrite, NVMe Format UserData Erase and NVMe Format Crypotgraphic Erase.

With the standard edition of toolstar®shredderLX you can wipe up to 4 hard drives at the same time. This means that even desktop PCs with multiple hard drives can be completed quickly in one go.


You can get Enterprise editions for 4, 8, 16 and more hard drives at the same time Request.

For each wipe process, you will receive a wipe report containing detailed messages and an overview of all deleted hard drives as well as an encrypted erasure certificate for each erased hard drive. The erasure report is perfect for your documentation and can be output as text, PDF, HTML, XML and JSON. You can also define up to 20 individual fields in which you can document information such as customer number, asset number, ticket number and other values.

You pay for the license, not the wipe it self. This allows toolstar®shredderLX to sanitize many hard drives one after the other cost-effectively. With a toolstar®shredderLX license you can wipe an unlimited number of hard drives per year. You only need as many licenses as you want to handle devices at the same time.

You can sanitize ATA HDD, ATA SSD, NVMe SSD, SCSI, Fiber Channel, USB, USB-C and many more types of disks. All processes can be automated and adjusted to individual drive types through the various settings.

Legal provision

Today, digital data must be protected better than paper documents because they can be evaluated and copied even more easily. This also applies to disposal. You need as many licenses as you want to edit devices at the same time or have workstations for simultaneous use. The licensing and cost structure is perfect for companies that prefer to easily calculate costs through fixed annual prices.

Who needs erasure software?

toolstar®shredderLX is an essential tool for anyone who is responsible for data security. Especially if you are responsible for foreign and personal data.

When is deletion of data necessary?

End-Of-Life

If a data storage device (server, PC, laptop, USB stick, mobile device, etc.) is to be recycled, sold or disposed of, all data contained on it must be completely and verifiably deleted. This eliminates the risk of unauthorized data access.

When data is no longer needed

If data is no longer needed, it must be deleted from the respective data storage medium.

After data recovery

After a data recovery has been carried out, the temporary storage medium should be erased so that there is no mix of new and old data during the next data recovery. This prevents data from being accidentally restored from two different customers.

Demand from customers

The GDPR and other international data protection regulations give consumers the right to request deletion of their data from your systems. In order to implement the regulations, all data must be wiped in an audit-proof, irretrievable and verifiable manner.

Data migration

When data is migrated from one location to a new location, the original location of the data must be verifiably erased.

Change of employees

When an employee leaves the company, all of that employee's data must be securely and verifiably deleted. This prevents new employees from having access to the remaining data from the old system.

A comprehensive and customizable erasure certificate is generated for each deleted hard drive, which can be individually and extensively adapted to the requirements of your company.

Determine which hardware diagnotics should run, how long and at what intensity. Create your own protocols and certificates in different formats and with different content. Create custom fields for customer number or ticket number and much more.

After you have created the automation scripts, you can easily start them in the program. Afterwards all options, test and deletion processes you have set run automatically and at the end they give you the protocols and certificates you created on the stick or the other available destinations (FTP, network, email or database ) out of. How was toolstar®shredderLX tested at ADISA?

toolstar®shredderLX has been tested at ADISA with “Test Level 2”. An SSD was used for the test. After deleting with toolstar®shredderLX an attempt was made to restore data using forensic software and physical reading of individual chips.
